The days are getting shorter and the air is getting colder, Christmas is coming! I feel it gets earlier and earlier every year but there is nothing wrong with being prepared for the festive period, especially with children. I do feel this time of year can be slightly overwhelming with all the presents to buy, the food to cook and the millions of activities to do. My tip is to plan and just pick a few good things to do rather than trying to do everything! There are lots of free activities you can do at home such as writing to Father Chritsmas or making a ginger bread house with the children (although this is not for the faint hearted!) Even doing simple activities such as paper chain making or painting a Christmas scene, can be lots of fun. Tip: gets lot of cotton wool for the very effective snow!
I have decided to write an article on this subject based on some recent experiences I have had whilst looking after a 22 month old. I spend a lot of time looking after children in various environments and children of varying ages and I am always amazed how many people are constantly on the phone. I am aware in this day and age it is hard to never use a phone as we are all so attached to them but when a child’s well being is involved I draw the line.
October is one of my favourite months, the leaves are turning orange, the air is becoming cooler and there is excitement building for Christmas! Before Christmas though there is Halloween and Bonfire Night which can be great fun but also we need to keep our children safe.
The summer holidays are here and with this weather it is the perfect excuse to get out of London. I absolutely love taking the kids to Brighton, as not only can they play on the beach but there is lots of fun to be had on the pier and down the Lanes. Here are a few of my top tips to enjoy Brighton.
